The concept of company culture has evolved from being a mere buzzword to a strategic foundation that thoroughly shapes organizational identity, employee dynamics, and overall success. Our member VASALTO Tech and Talent sets an inspirational example of how culture, being at the heart of their company, can bring a competitive advantage in the dynamic market. Read our interview with Inés Guerra Molina, the sales manager at VASALTO, who oversees all the marketing, sales and customer support as part of a transversal strategy to take the customer by the hand from day one. Discover how VASALTO’s values and company culture are reflected in all their internal processes and with clients, driving the company’s success.
What, in your opinion, defines your company the best?
VASALTO is a consulting firm for companies – we do payroll, labour consulting, accounting and tax management, and legal advice. I personally like to describe us as 360 backoffice services, since we cover all the areas in which a company may need support from an external provider. All this is driven by two key pillars that our name itself indicates – Technology and Talent – meaning we work with a highly qualified team, where everything that can be done digitally is done so. For us, the most important thing is people, working with people for people, and always with technology facilitating our work and value.
How crucial do you consider the company culture, and what challenges do you acknowledge in recreating it?
Company culture is no longer an option. An employee will join the company for the culture and the salary, but what really hooks them to the company and will be the reason they stay is the culture. A company without culture is like a dish of food without flavor, it does not engage, it is not repeated, and you are not left wanting more.
At VASALTO it is clear to us that we can only stay in the market and continue to grow with a strong culture. It must be something that can be breathed and also materialized with acts, data and actions.
We have developed an audiovisual manual where this culture is embodied and translated into how to apply it to day-to-day service we provide to our customers. Working from this perspective generates a work environment of mutual comfort, both for the client and the employee, where expectations are always aligned.
The challenges we face today with respect to culture are many. Building a strong culture is something that requires a lot of time and follow-up to review for compliance. The important thing about culture is not only to have it, write it down and fill out documents explaining the company’s values, but to embody it. Every action, every act and every service provided by VASALTO must be impregnated by our culture.
This is a great challenge that we manage to achieve thanks to the monthly follow-up of our employees with the person to whom they report and thanks to the biannual quality audit that is performed, which brings the opportunity to review all these parts.
When discussing the company’s culture, what is your vision for Vasalto?
As mentioned before, in VASALTO culture is not an option. It is something primordial and essential in order to be competitive in the market, both in the labour market and in the sector in which we operate.
Our vision is clear, talent and technology must be reflected in every action we take as the pillars of our culture. This is reflected throughout all our internal processes and with clients, so that both people and digitalization are the backbone of our work.
Do you anticipate that this will enhance collaboration outside your company and potentially lead to new partnerships?
We are currently facing a 100% globalized market, so our values have been designed and chosen with this context in mind. The scenario we are witnessing today, both at the customer and employee level, is unique.
You can be hired 10,000km away without leaving your home, your payroll can be done in Pakistan being a Spanish payroll. Or it is Australia that develops the internal tools of a German company.
This scenario has led us to put talent and technology at the forefront. Thanks to these two well forged pillars we can belong and extend our workforce to partners to keep growing in business volume.
Without this well-established base it is not possible that international and transversal partners trust in VASALTO to grow hand in hand, so we have no doubt that the people in our team with a good technological base built are the elements that will take us to the next level.
How do new partnerships impact your approach to introducing technologies, such as using AI or other innovations?
First of all, it should be noted that VASALTO is driven by the aforementioned culture, so it is essential that our partners share these values and bring us closer to where we want to be.
At this point we safeguard that every alliance goes hand in hand with the technological part. Our main partners are our technology providers for all the services we provide, from payroll to accounting or legal advice. Every process that can be autonomized in VASALTO will be done, which is why we need strong and solid partners in this sense.
In a broader sense, we have started an AI project for the whole customer support, where many of the routine doubts will be attended in an agile and immediate manner by our robot.
However, we have to highlight our partnership at a higher level, with Accace Circle, where the valorization of new technology at the service of customers is one of the most important aspects, and we are working on this line intensively in the community.
What key partnerships have you established in the last couple of months?
Some of our key partnerships in recent months are Personio, Deel and Integrho – companies that provide us with high performance technology in the human resources sector so that our clients can take advantage of all the benefits of these technologies in their companies.
What main milestones or achievements do you anticipate resulting from these partnerships? Additionally, how long do you foresee the process taking?
These alliances will help us to grow bigger and better. They will allow us to provide our customers with the best and most updated answers. It is essential to be able to accommodate the most advanced options on the market and offer them to our customers, so that they can benefit from them without having to look for them.
