In recent years, the European job market has undergone a significant transformation, while traditional job incentives or fancy titles are no longer the primary focus for employees. This innovative solution offers a smarter and more efficient way of managing office spaces, addressing the needs of the changing corporate landscape.
Adopting a hybrid work model
In 2021, when the pandemic affected significantly how people work , Accace was struggling with a new challenge: there was an increased number of employees, but the number of office desks and available parking spaces remained unchanged since the lockdown a year prior.
While remote work was an option, many employees preferred a return to the office either full-time or through a hybrid approach. This presented logistical challenges, leading to the development of Book!t, an in-house tool enabling online booking of shared desks and parking spaces. In just three clicks, employees can now reserve spaces up to a month in advance, embodying the essence of modern workspaces—flexibility, autonomy, and choice.
Book!t’s popularity among employees
Between January and August 2023, Book!t witnessed an impressive 1,162 reservations for shared parking spaces in Accace’s Slovak offices, with only 19 desks consistently booked despite having over 170 employees. This demonstrates the tool’s effectiveness in managing logistical challenges for a large employee base with limited permanent seating. Book!t provides a seamless solution for team meetings by offering an overview of colleagues’ availability on specific dates. Moreover, it equips branch managers with real-time insights into departmental capacity, along with long-term statistics on the utilization of office and parking spaces, contributing to a more informed and organized work environment. Designed for various organizational scales, from startups to large enterprises, it has proven adaptable and popular among employees.
Implications for the corporate landscape
In this ever-evolving professional landscape, technology plays a crucial role in reshaping the employee-employer relationship. As digitalization shapes the future of work and expectations shift, companies must innovate to remain competitive and attract top talent.
Rigid structures are no longer sustainable; instead, businesses must create dynamic ecosystems to motivate and engage their employees, recognizing that empowered employees are at the core of success. By addressing the challenges associated with the contemporary trend of remote work, Book!t emerges as a solution that can alleviate various issues faced by companies.
